Auditions
Attend the audition day of your choice and register or submit an online audition. You must do one of these to be considered for the Washington County’s Got Talent Show. There are no other available dates/times for auditions.
Thursday, July 9, 2026: 7:00 – 8:30 PM
Saturday, July 11, 2026: 9:00 – 10:30 AM
Open Casting, come when you can!
Washington County Fairgrounds in the Park Pavilion.
Three Divisions of Competition:
Pre-Teen Division
Contestants 12 years of age and younger
Teen Division
Contestants 13-18 years of age
Open Division
Open to all contestants, regardless of age
Finalists
Each division will perform at the Washington County Fair in the Park Pavilion.
Pre-Teen Division ~ Saturday, August 1, 2026 – 10:00 AM
Teen Division ~ Saturday, August 1, 2026 – 3:30 PM
Open Division ~ Sunday, August 2, 2026 – 4:00 PM
Rules
Three Divisions of competition:
Pre-Teen Division ~ Contestants 12 years of age and younger
Teen Division ~ Contestants 13 – 18 years of age
Open Division ~ Open to all contestants, regardless of age
The talent show is open to all amateur entertainers. There is no fee; you can pre-register to audition online or in person register at the audition dates. All contestants will be judged on quality of performance, stage presence, entertainment value, and selection. The Washington County’s Got Talent show adheres to the guidelines set by the Minnesota State Fair Amateur Talent Show.
Performances are limited to four minutes. Contestants are allowed to perform a medley of tunes, but must remain within the four-minute time limit.
Vocalists may use recorded accompaniment, provided the recording contains musical accompaniment ONLY… absolutely no vocals of any kind are allowed on recording (State Fair rules).
Washington County Fair is a family fair. Please ensure that the act you choose is an age-appropriate piece in regard to content and costume.
The Park Pavilion is an outdoor facility with a roof. The stage is 40 feet wide and 20 feet deep, with a wood
floor. Contestants are encouraged to come in costume, since the changing facilities are small.
If the 2025 talent show first-place winner chooses to compete in 2026:
The Pre-Teen Division winner is required to audition in the Teen or Open Division,
The Teen Division winner is required to audition in the Open Division.
The Open Division winner is not eligible to participate in 2026.
Prizes
Cash Prizes will be awarded to winners in each division:
Pre-Teen Division
- 1st Place – $150*
- 2nd Place – $120*
- 3rd Place – $100
- 4th Place – $80
Teen Division
- 1st Place – $150*
- 2nd Place – $120*
- 3rd Place – $100
- 4th Place – $80
Open Division
- 1st Place – $150*
- 2nd Place – $120*
- 3rd Place – $100
- 4th Place – $80
* Plus, entry as a semi-finalist in the County Fair Amateur Talent Contest during the Minnesota State Fair
